Experience

Kathleen specialised in healthcare design and has 25 years’ experience in this field. She has worked on a variety of public and private health care projects. She was the Project Architect for the new 140 bed State Rehab Centre at Fiona Stanley Hospital WA, smaller specialist hospitals and day procedure units like Oxford Street Day Surgery, SleepMed private sleep clinic, community health centres and small clinics, as well as numerous alterations and additions to various private hospitals like the new Comprehensive Cancer Centre and Coronary Care Unit at St John of God Hospital Bunbury.

She has followed projects through from needs assessment through all stages to commissioning. She is acutely aware of the evidence of good design on patient well-being and recovery and keeps abreast of the latest trends.

Kathleen is a director of HHA Architects. She is an Architectural Consultant for the Department of Health, Licensing and Accreditation Regulatory Unit (LARU), and actively reviews existing healthcare facilities and new healthcare building licence applications, for compliance with the West Australian Private Hospital Guidelines and other relevant regulations, standards and acts. Kathleen has an intimate the planning processes relevant to health planning in WA.

 Kathleen is a registered Architect in Western Australia.
