‘CAMPBELL STREET’ mixed-use apartments West Perth

RFP for Department of Housing: Our consortium was invited to submit a proposal for Campbell Street, based on the quality of our Cockburn Central FRP  submission. The financial model was based on the Respondent taking the risk, unlike Cockburn Central where the Contractor is paid on monthly draw-downs.

Blackburne Property Group was a late replacement for MATCH who went AWOL 10 days before hand-in. Our design approach was a sustainable ’boutique’ style mixed-use apartment building.

We were short-listed but unfortunately came second after inheriting a financial model from MATCH who under estimated the value of the land. We added  2 storeys and another basement level in quick time but it wasn’t enough to win.

Description: ‘Boutique’ mixed-use residential apartments, seven storeys in height, over common basement parking, comprising 78 apartments and four retail spaces, including Café and landscaped terrace.

Client: Department of Housing

Architect: MMA in collaboration with HHA in WA.

Brief: Mixed-use residential proposal for the Department of Housing.

Budget: No fixed budget, our proposal was estimated to cost $22 million.

Program: RFP – March and April 2010.
